Bacteria are organisms which can adopt to changes around them very quickly. Antibiotic resistance is an example of that.

Resistance to a certain antibiotic means that said antibiotic cannot kill or stop the reproduction of bacteria.

Bacteria with antibiotic resistance provides advantages over non-resistant bacteria in the presence of antibiotics and As a result of this most of the bacteria in the environment develops resistance to antibiotics after a certain time. In addition, bacteria can transfer genetic materials causing the resistance to different bacterial species. So this contributes to the spread of antibiotic resistance among bacteria. Diseases caused by resistant bacteria poses a serious health threat especially in intensive care and patients with weakened immune system.

These diseases are immune to treatment. They cause an increase the length of hospitalization, development of related complication, increase in the rate of getting the disease and sometimes death.

Failure to prevent antibiotic resistance will be much greater danger in the future. So that, soon current antibiotics can be ineffective in the treatment of infectious diseases and even a simple wound infection can cause death.
